The Little Death

by Scott Tobias

The Reveal furthers the discussion of the film while providing a space for readers who have seen it to discuss plot-sensitive details. In other words: Spoilers ahead. Avoiding spoilers? Return to the review.

So how does the film literally crash to a halt? Outside the call center after work, Monica has trouble starting her car. She accepts assistance from a driver, who happens to be the cookie-baking sex offender, which immediately raises the tension when she slides into the passenger seat. But the driver steps out for a moment and crosses the street, where he’s hit by another car. The driver of that car? Sleep fetishist Phil, who has fallen asleep at the wheel. With this cinema world now rid of its creepiest residents—two little deaths to end the movie—it’s time to cut to black.
