June 16, 2015 New on DVD and Blu-ray

This week on home-video, you no longer have an excuse to miss Wild Tales

by Kate Erbland
This week on home-video, you no longer have an excuse to miss Wild Tales

Did you miss the riotious and rollicking Wild Tales during the Argentian entry for Best Foreign Language Film’s extremely limited domestic release? You did?! (I did, too!) Well, now you have zero excuse to not catch up one of last year’s most original and inventive films, thanks to the magic of home-video. The Damián Szifron-directed anthology film is now available on both Blu-ray and DVD (such choices), allowing fans of revenge cinema the chance to enjoy some truly special insanity in the confines of their own home. It’s easily the must-buy pick of the pack, so go forth, get crazy.

Don’t want to get crazy? That’s okay, too. This week’s new home-video releases include plenty of other options, including a new batch of Warner Archive releases (from Doctor, You’ve Got To Be Kidding! to Three Bites Of The Apple), a pair of Chuck Norris features (An Eye For An Eye and Hero & The Terror), and the long-anticipated release of a mess of Wallace Shawn- and Andre Gregory-centric Criterion Collection offerings. Chappie is also available, if you need some robots in your life (you don’t need these robots, but I like to give you options), along with the Kristen Wiig-starring Welcome To Me and Run All Night, if you need to catch up on recent stuff. Oh, and some sort of new combo pack for Spirited Away. You guys don’t need that, do you?
