A little over 10 months separates the viewing public from the 24th installment of the James Bond franchise, Spectre. That’s a long damn time to wait for anything, and that excruciating delay is only made worse by the gleaming promise of Skyfall, one of the finest Bond pictures in recent years. The full details for Spectre were publicized back in December, but outside of the relief that hackers weren’t going to spoil the entire script about a year ahead of schedule, news on the production has been quiet. It’s not much, and it certainly isn’t a trailer, but the sporting types at MI6 have allowed an early informational leak.
The verified twitter account codenamed @007 (not especially inconspicuous, if you ask me—isn’t that the first place Spectre would look when planning to troll MI6?) posted two enticing bits of preview material. The first, a 90-second behind-the-scenes featurette with Palme d’Or winner Lea Seydoux and Guardians Of The Galaxy alum Dave Bautista, mostly pimps the majestic natural sweep of Austria. During production on some kind of Alpine chase, a few crew members break down the process of location scouting and what has gone into crafting the look of Spectre.
The other tweet was a promotional still of Bond himself, clad in covert-ops gear and stalking an unseen foe. The photo would make fine fodder for another round of everyone’s favorite game, What Does This Look Like? In my estimation, the photo looks like a still of the titular hero in a gritty action reboot of Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. You can play too, in the comments below!
