This Monday, The Dissolve and Pitchfork will launch our first-ever collaborative readers poll. We’ll be asking for your picks for the year’s best film, performances, and directorial work. It’s your chance to share your opinions with us, after listening to us express our opinions all year. And because this is a joint poll, you’ll also have a chance to vote on the year’s best music on the Pitchfork side of the equation.
Watch this space Monday for a link to the poll. Any film released in this calendar year is eligible. (For a guide, please consult Dissolve contributor Mike D’Angelo’s obsessively updated list of New York releases.) And, yes, we realize the timing is a little off given that many major films have yet to be released, but that still leaves many fine 2014 films from which to choose, and we’re going to try to find a way to revisit this in January to see what might have changed.
