Grab a cup of joe, settle in, and get ready to feel a little teary-eyed over a Hugh Jackman movie that is not Kate & Leopold (what? just me?).
As is so often the case with high-powered celebs, Jackman has his hands in all sorts of charitable endeavors. One of those—World Vision Australia—led him to Ethiopia and to a community of coffee growers, where Jackman realized the power in just one cup of coffee. Moreover, he realized the impact that he could personally have on those cups of coffee and those growers, especially his new friend, local coffee farmer Dukale.
Dukale’s Dream follows Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness as they attempt to help their new friends with their livelihood, while also addressing issues in their own lives that have a profound impact on people just like Dukale. If you’re familiar with the Laughing Man mini-chain of coffee shops in New York City, you may already know the direction that Dukale’s Dream is heading in, but that doesn’t dilute its charm (or flavor).
