It seems as if we’ve been anticipating Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland for entire years now (a quick check of The Dissolve archives reveals that we first wrote about it in August of 2013, so we’ll chalk that up as “reasonably close to years”), and though the film is now mere weeks away from release, we still don’t know too much about the feature itself. That’s kind of refreshing, really, though I suspect that this new trailer is going to change our knowledge status in a big (and mostly good) way.
In short, if you want to stay sort of unspoiled on this whole affair, stay away. If you’re like me and are still curious about what’s in store for us, take a peek. It’s definitely way better than standing in line at Disneyland and/or World, and those places offer up Mickey Mouse-shaped ice cream and enough churros to fell even the most sugar-obsessed of little ones.
Enjoy the latest trailer for Tomorrowland, complete with George Clooney flying in a bathtub, because that is the sort of thing any magic world needs to provide for eager audiences.
The trail of the tape
Title: Tomorrowland
Director: Brad Bird
Screenwriters: Brad Bird, Jeff Jensen, Damon Lindelof
Cast: George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Judy Greer
Release date: May 22, 2015
The entire trailer in one line of dialogue: “He thinks you can fix the future.”
The entire trailer in one screengrab:
This trailer provides the most complete sense of what Tomorrowland (the place) actually is, an entirely other world (and one that appears to be spoken about mostly in the past tense) that features all sorts of wonderful things (like flying cars and immaculate robes to wear) that only young Britt Robertson can save, albeit with the aid of Clooney and a magic pin. For now, this is about as far as I would like to go as it applies to learning more about the film, because perhaps some actual magic awaits us in the final feature. (If not, we can always go out for Mickey Mouse-shaped ice cream to ease our hearts.)
