Hollywood is frequently accused of abandoning adult subjects to focus all its creative energies on movies for children and teens. With the amount of films cranked out every year based on comic books, toys, board games, and amusement-park rides, it’s tough to argue with that assertion. But there are at least a few projects aimed at a more mature (or, at least, an older immature) audience coming this fall. In Last Vegas, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, and Robert De Niro get to indulge in a little Hangover-style debauchery during a crazy Vegas bachelor party. And in Grudge Match, previewed for your entertainment pleasure below, Sylvester Stallone and De Niro renew a decades-old boxing rivalry.
So basically, if you don’t want a movie based on comic books, toys, board games, or amusement-park rides, you better like Robert De Niro. Because that’s pretty much all Hollywood’s got at this point.
The trail of the tape

The entire trailer in one line of dialogue: “You, my friend, are embarrassing yourself.”
The entire trailer in one screengrab:
If I were a cynical man, I would say that the image above isn’t just the entire trailer in a single screengrab, but rather De Niro’s entire post-Casino career in a single screengrab: one big, cringe-inducing shrug. But I’m an optimist, so I see no connection whatsoever between De Niro’s career and this still, and I am sure this film will be a masterpiece of light comedy with a potent message about man’s eternal struggle with his mortality, plus Kevin Hart jokes.
