The new Age Of Ultron tease features an Avengers house party

by Matt Singer
The new Age Of Ultron tease features an Avengers house party

Marvel’s original plan was to debut the first trailer for Avengers: Age Of Ultron on last night’s episode of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. But then the dastardly members of Hydra leaked the teaser online nearly a week early, forcing Marvel to jump the gun and unveil the HD version early as well. But rather than replay the exact same clip in its advertised spot, the studio made a classy move and actually recut the spot, adding an extended prologue at an Avengers house party where each of Earth’s mightiest heroes tries to lift Thor’s hammer. Take a look:

Speaking as the nerdiest nerd who ever nerded, I love this stuff. Sure the action and adventure is great, but as a reader, I always loved the issues where the Avengers hung out at their mansion after a gruelling mission, or the X-Men relaxed between battles with a game of softball. Yes, the effects and the visuals are important, but what really got The Avengers over in the first place was the camaraderie between the characters. If this little clip is a sign that there will be plenty of that in the sequel, that’s all the more reason to be excited.
