We get a lot of email here at The Dissolve, ranging from the extremely important (Look! A Gone Girl screening!) to the not-so-important. (“Would you publish a list I’ve composed about super fruit on your blog?”) We'll leave it to you to rank this news, which landed in our inbox this morning, on that scale:
Fans who attend showings of TUSK *tonight* will have the chance for their Twitter handles to be recorded for posterity on the film’s credits on the DVD release.
Immortality, of a sort, is just a few simple steps away. Allow us to relay them:
1. See Tusk tonight.
2. Post a picture of your ticket stub, thus proving you saw Tusk tonight, to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags #walruseyes #tgitusk
3. Your handle will be added to the film’s DVD credits.
So, in one sense, you now have a chance to star in Kevin Smith’s Canadian-themed horror movie Tusk. In another, less deluded sense, you don’t. But you can at least get your handle in the credits for all those who watch Tusk in the future. Make your grandkids—for whom Tusk will no doubt become a beloved part of our cultural heritage, and who will totally have learned about what Twitter and Instagram were via neural implants—proud.
